Excluding the German Bundesliga, most of the European Leagues are still facing a stoppage due to the pandemic. Some Leagues even decided on canceling the season as well. However, behind the scenes, the clubs keep focusing on the transfer market and the possible reinforcements for next season.
In recent weeks, the new rumor is that Gonzalo Higuain could leave Juventus. And, according to the newspaper “TuttoSport”, the Old Lady has already targeted somebody if the Argentine player leaves indeed.
The information of the newspaper is that Higuain’s countryman, Mauro Icardi is the big name in the Italian club for the next season. The polemic striker, who belongs to Inter Milan, is currently on a loan to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Italian club’s intention would be to rely on the young Argentine striker to occupy the place Higuain may open on the team if he really leaves the Old Lady to Argentina as it is being speculated.
Playing for the French club, Icardi has a total of 31 matches, in which he scored 20 goals. According to the website “Transfermarkt”, his price tag is something near 60 million euros. So, if Juve really wants him, they will have to put a lot of money into the negotiation.
We all know that Icardi is a very good player, there is no doubt about that. However, I don’t see the ‘Icardi package’ as a whole really worth it.
What I mean by that is that his wife and career manager, Wanda Nara, is well-known for causing some trouble where she has been to.
On the field, Mauro Icardi would be a good reinforcement for the Old Lady and would make a wonderful front-three with Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala. With the three of them, maybe the Turin-based club would get closer to a possible UEFA Champions League title.
However, the off-pitch is doubtful, and despite he doesn’t apparently have any case of indiscipline in France so far, who knows what he can do once he’s back in Italian lands, right?
