For matchday 29 of La Liga, Osasuna welcomed Atletico de Madrid. With a great performance from Joao Felix, who scored the two first goals of the match, the visitors trashed the home team by 5-0. Marcos Llorente, Alvaro Morata, and Yannick Carrasco scored the other goals from Atleti.
Atletico started the first half throwing themselves on the hosts. They created chances already in the early minutes, stopping on goalkeeper Ruben Martinez sometimes, or sending the ball wide on others. At the 27th minute, finally, they broke the deadlock with Joao Felix. The young Portuguese star shot from inside the box and put the ball into the back of the net.
After that, Osasuna tried to find the equalizer, and even though they had some good chances, most of their plays didn’t finish the way they wanted. Some stopped on the defensive system, others the shot was weak or the ball went wide. With that, Atleti went to the locker room ahead on the scoring.
As soon as the second half started, the visitors doubled the scoring. At the 56th minute, Diego Costa found Joao Felix and the number 7 found the back of the net once again.
The hosts made their best to score after suffering the second goal. They tried with Adrian Lopez and Aridane Hernandez, but both missed their chances. Atleti, on the other hand, found more three goals in 9 minutes.
At the 79th minute, Marcos Llorente received a cross from Hector Herrera and increased the advantage. 4 minutes later, it was Llorente’s turn to give an assist to Morata, who shot in the far post to score the fourth goal of the visitors. Finally, at the 88th minute, Carrasco closed the scoring after a mistake from Osasuna’s defender. 5-0 to Atleti.
With the victory, Atletico Madrid is now with 49 points, in 4th place. Osasuna, on the other hand, stopped on 35 points, in 13th place.
