Eibar welcomed Real Valladolid for matchday 37 of La Liga. At the Ipurua Municipal Stadium, the hosts left with the three points after a good 3-1 win over their opponents. Pedro Bigas, Takashi Inui, and Pablo de Basis guaranteed the victory for the home team. Sergio Guardiola Navarro diminished for the visitors.
The away side started the first half a little better, searching for spaces to create good opportunities. However, they stopped at a very good defense made by Eibar. Although they didn’t have the ball, the home team were the ones getting closer and closer from breaking the deadlock, and that’s exactly what happened. At the 21st minute, the defender Pedro Bigas jumped higher than his opponents’ defense and headed home after a corner from Pedro Leon.
Eibar didn’t stop after the goal and seven minutes later, they doubled their lead through Inui. Fede tried to give the ball back to goalkeeper Churripi, who slipped and gave the Japanese the perfect opportunity to steal the ball and put it into the back of an empty net. With that, the hosts went to the locker room with a two-goal lead.
Losing by two, Valladolid came back to the second half trying to diminish the home team’s advantaged. At the 71st minute, they managed to do so with Guardiola. The visitors were awarded a penalty, that the number 7 took. Goalkeeper Enes Unal was able to make the save, but in the rebound, the Spanish player put the ball into the back of the net.
After that, the efforts made by the away team were not enough to get an equalizer. And, making things worse, the hosts were awarded a penalty already during the injury time. At 90+2, de Blasis stepped up and converted from the spot.
With the 3-1 victory, Eibar reached 42 points, in 13th place. Meanwhile, Real Valladolid are in 16th place, with 39 points.
