Hellas Verona welcomed Inter Milan this Thursday for matchday 31 of Serie A TIM. At the Marc Antonio Bentegodi Stadium, the teams shared points after a 2-2 draw. Darko Lazovic and Miguel Veloso scored for the hosts, while Antonio Candreva and Federico Dimarco, with an own goal, scored for the visitors.
The first half had barely begun and the deadlock was already broken. At the 2nd minute, Lazovic received on the left, went down the wing, and, even without a good angle, hit into the back of the net to open the scoring.
After the goal, the visitors tried to take control of the ball but were not really able to threaten. Meanwhile, the home team was constantly scaring Inter’s defense. They almost doubled their scoring with Veloso’s shot, which hit the post. However, they went to half time only with a one-goal lead.
The second half also started with an early goal, but this time it was for the visitors. At the 49th minute, Candreva took advantage of Romelu Lukaku’s shot’s rebound and put the ball into the back of the net to equalize the scoring.
A few minutes later, Inter got the comeback with an own goal from Dimarco. At the 55th minute, the number 23 was helping the defense and deflected Candreva’s cross into the back of his own net, killing any chances of goalkeeper Marco Silvestri saving.
Already close to the end of the match, at the 86th minute, the hosts found the equalizer to at least get one point. After receiving the ball from Amir Rahmani, Veloso hit a strong shot into the left corner, to which goalkeeper Samir Handanovic didn’t have any reaction.
With the 2-2 draw, Hellas Verona continues six points behind the qualification zone for next year’s Europa League, in 9th place. Meanwhile, Inter Milan dropped to 4th place, with 65 points.
