Inter Milan showed they have a big interest in Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti. However, even though they want to bring the French defender to Italy, the club made clear some impositions.
According to the website “Calciomercato”, the Italian club doesn’t want to relate the operation with the ongoing Lautaro Martinez’s business. And we all know how much the Argentine would be interesting in joining Barcelona. The other demand is that the Frenchman would only be acquired through a loan deal. They are not interested in purchasing him.
The biggest fear of the Italian managers, the one who makes them think about a bond that is not definitive, is the frequent injuries suffered by the athlete after the 2018 Russia World Cup.
However, the options imposed by Inter Milan do not please the Catalan club.
Barca had set Slovak Skriniar as a possible target and he’s the main defender on Antonio Conte’s team. According to the reports gathered until now, the Frenchman’s departure from Spain would not be linked to a possible arrival of the Slovak defender.
Previously, defender Umtiti had already been the interest of the English team Manchester United. According to the newspaper “Jornal Sport”, Barcelona gave the endorsement for the club to hire the athlete for something about 46 million euros. However, the negotiation did not progress.
According to the newspaper “Mirror”, Barca would be willing to negotiate the player to ‘make money’. Mainly because they would use the amount raised to invest in other negotiations. However, they are well aware of the fact the higher negotiations are unlikely to happen due to the financial crises because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
For Barcelona, this season, defender Samuel Umtiti played 16 games and was not able to score on any of the opportunities. In total, the defender has 114 games for the Catalan club, which he has been playing since the 2016-17 season.
