Bayern Munich fans can rest easy in relation to Austrian defender David Alaba’s contract. The player who has a contract with the Bavarian club until July 2021 has given signs that he’s going to extend his contractual relationship with the Bavarian team rather than moving out.
It is worth remembering that in recent weeks, Alaba had his name set as a possible target for many European clubs, including Real Madrid.
According to the “Goal” website, David Alaba has no interest in moving to Spain and thus wants to stay at Bayern Munich. With a contract going until mid-July 2021, the player could already sign a pre-contract with any other club in January next year.
In addition, in order not to lose the player for free, the Bavarians could decrease his price tag of a possible sale in the next transfer window.
In a recent interview, Bayern coach Hans Flick praised the player and assumed he could fit into any other club.
“It is not just us who see what a great player he is. There are other clubs that see it the same way. Everyone knows that I want him to continue with us. He grew up in our youth teams and has been playing here for a long time. His development as a defender has been spectacular ”.
The player was trained in the Bavarian under categories and was launched as a left-back. Shortly after Pep Guardiola’s arrival, he started playing in other roles. Thus, he currently plays sometimes as an actual defender whereas other times as a defensive midfielder, which reinforces Alaba’s versatility.
In the current season, Alaba played 32 games wearing the Bavarian jersey, most as a defender. He scored a goal and gave two assists.
Alaba is one of those players that shows he deserves respect. He’s been a Bayern Munich player for basically his whole life and has won a lot of trophies with the Bavarian club.
