On Saturday, Manchester City hosted Brighton at the Etihad Stadium on Matchday 4 in the Premier League. The Cityzens ended up dominating Brighton, as they beat the Seagulls 4-0. Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero – twice – and Bernardo Silva scored for the hosts.
With the result, the blue side of Manchester claims temporarily the top of the League with 10 points, but they can lose it in a few hours, as Liverpool will still play against Brighton on the other hand, are 12th, with four points.
As the match began, City imposed themselves and did not wait long to open the scoring. After two minutes into the match, David Silva made a fine individual move and fed De Bruyne, who alone in the area completed it to the back of the net. 1-0 City.
Even with the early goal, the hosts did not get to the 5th gear and were benevolent with the visitors. However, the mercy had a break at 42 minutes. Following a fine team-move, De Bruyne tried to volley home, but it ended up as an assist to Aguero, who controlled the ball inside the area and made it two. 2-0 City.
City kept going, and after the break scored two more. At the 54th minute, Aguero received from David Silva at the edge of the box, controlled the ball and dropped a bomb at the top corner to score another goal and extend the score. 3-0 City.
Guardiola subbed Bernardo Silva in, on 79 minutes, and it took the Portuguese winger only a few seconds to make it four. Aguero assisted him, as the Portuguese Silva dominated the ball, and fired home. 4-0 City.
Following the 4-0 win over Brighton, the cityzens will have a two-week off time due to the upcoming international break. They are back in action next Saturday, as they visit Norwich. Brighton host Burnley on the same day, in the Premier League.
