This Sunday, Leicester faced Chelsea for the quarterfinals of the FA Cup. At the Wembley Stadium, Frank Lampard’s men had to improve their performance in the second half to get a simple 1-0 victory and qualify for the next round. The only goal of the match was scored by Ross Barkley.

The first half was not really exciting. Honestly, both clubs did not create much, and chances of goal were incredibly rare. The Foxes had their first chance at the 19th minute, when Youri Tielemans tried from outside the box, obligating goalkeeper Willy Caballero to make a good save.

The Blues, on the other hand, just created an opportunity at the 30th minute, when Christian Pulisic obligated goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to make a beautiful save. In the end, the first 45 minutes ended goalless and with a boring match so far.

For the second half, manager Lampard decided to change a few players, and it was effective. At the 55th minute, they’ve almost broken the deadlock, but the goal was ruled out due to an offside position. At the 63rd minute, however, they managed to open the scoring after keeping the pressure on their opponents. Willian crossed to Barkley, who sent a right-footed shot into the back of the net.

Chelsea still had a chance to double their scoring at the end of the match, in a fast counter-attack. However, the Danish keeper Schmeichel appeared to deny Pedro’s attempt. The match ended 1-0 to the Blues of London.

With the victory, Chelsea qualified for the semifinals of the FA Cup, where they will face Manchester United. The other semifinal will be between Arsenal and Manchester City.

Both teams, however, come back to the pitch in the middle of the week, for the Premier League. Chelsea will visit West Ham on Wednesday, and, on the same day, Leicester will visit Everton.
