This Sunday, Udinese hosted Atalanta at Dacia Arena in Italian Serie A’s 28th Italian Serie A Gameweek. Thus, Atalanta, led by manager Gian Piero Gasperini grabbed their third post-pandemic win, as they beat hosts Udinese 3-2. Muriel scored a brace, as Zapata scored the other one for the visitors. Lasagna scored both goals for the hosts. The Bergamo club put pressure on Internazionale, with 57 points after the away triumph.
Atalanta broke the deadlock through Zapata, as he was assisted by Argentine Papu Gomez, and gave no chances for the Udinese keeper.
A few moments later, Lasagna showed up to grab the equalizer for the hosts, as he received a through-ball from Fofana and slotted past the on-rushing Atalanta keeper Gollini.
After the break, Udinese started off as the brightest side and could have gotten the lead, but the post saved visitors Atalanta. Manager Gasperini tried to make some changes to help Atalanta out and introduced striker Muriel, who made an instant impact in the match.
On 71 minutes, Papu Gomez was fouled by the edge of the box. Muriel asked to take the free-kick and ended up slotting a wonderful curling ball at goalkeeper Musso’s top-corner. What a goal, completely out of reach to the keeper. 1-2 Atalanta.
In the 79th-minute, Gomez got another assist, as he assisted substitute Muriel, who scored at the corner past Musso. By the end of the match, Lasagna doubled his own tally with another goal, but it wasn’t enough for changing the final outcome in the match.
Atalanta and Udinese will only play again next Thursday, ending the 29th matchweek of Serie A TIM. First, the team led by Gian Piero Gasperini hosts Napoli, at the Atletti Azzurri d’Italia stadium. Then, Udinese travels to the capital, where they face Roma away from home at the Olympic stadium.
