This Sunday, Juventus welcomed Brescia at Allianz Stadium for matchday 24 of Serie A. Almost 41 thousand fans went to see the Old Lady’s victory by 2-0, even without Cristiano Ronaldo, who was not even on the bench. Paulo Dybala and Juan Cuadrado scored the goals that guaranteed the 3 points.
It was not a surprise when the hosts started attacking more and they lost some good chances of breaking the deadlock. Brescia also attacked and had their best chance to score with Mario Ballotelli’s free-kick, but the Italian missed.
Things got even worse to the visitors when, at the 38th minute, Florian Aye brought down Aaron Ramsey at the edge of the box and saw his second yellow card. Dybala took the free-kick and put it into the top-left corner. Goalkeeper Enrico Afonso didn’t even react.
Playing against Juve, in Turin, is never an easy task. With 10 players, it seems almost impossible not losing and maybe conceding a lot. But Brescia did a good job and avoided the second goal during the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, however, Juventus started creating even more opportunities and doubled the scoring at the 75th minute. Cuadrado played a one-two with Matuidi and finished past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. And of course, he danced while celebrating.
The Old Lady still scored one more goal with Argentine Gonzalo Higuain, but VAR ruled it out.
Under the conditions, Brescia’s defeat was not that bad, but the situation of the team continues critical. They remain in the 19th position, with just 16 points. That is 7 points less than the first team outside the relegation zone. Juventus, on the other hand, remain in the first position with 57 points, which is one point ahead of the second place, Lazio.
Playing the Champions League just next week, the Old Lady will prepare to face the last place of Serie A, SPAL, on Saturday. Brescia will welcome Napoli, who is not in their best season, trying to get a victory and maybe fight against relegation.
