All easy for the Italian Champions who faced Udinese in the Italian Cup Round of 16 and counted with an inspired Paulo Dybala to carry them on to the Quarter Final of the domestic competition. The Argentine striker scored twice, as his countryman Gonzalo Higuain and Brazilian Douglas Costa also went to the scoresheet in the easy 4-0 win.
Juve now awaits the winner of the match between Roma and Parma on Thursday to get to know their opponents in the next phase.
Even without Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, Maurizio Sarri’s men didn’t have problems to build an elastic win at home. Completely dominating Udinese from start to finish, the attacking duo formed by Argentines Dybala and Higuain bossed the first half.
In the quarter of an hour, Dybala and Higuain combined for a give-and-go as the latter got face to face with Udinese’s keeper, and Pipita did not disappoint. 1-0 Juventus.
Shortly thereafter, it was time for Dybala to shine. Bernardeschi was brought down inside the penalty area as Juventus were awarded a pen. The Argentine was the taker and converted from the spot. 2-0 Juventus.
In the second half, Juve started again with the same ambitions to go on and score twice more.
Higuain scored once again with 54 on the clock, but his goal was ruled out by the VAR. No problem for Old Lady, who would score three minutes later through Dybala. Higuain leaned it inside the area for his countryman as he scored from close-range through a lovely finish.
Three became four on 61′ as Nuytinck hit the ball with his arm and another penalty was given to the hosts. Brazilian Costa went on to make it four from the penalty spot. 4-0 Juve.
