Finally, Milan had a proper debut in the Italian Serie A! Pushed by more than 50.000 Rossoneri fans at the San Siro, AC Milan struggled a bit, but defeated Brescia 1-0. The winner was scored by the Turkish, Calhanoglu in the first half, and guaranteed the hosts their first three points in the Italian Serie A.

Following the tough and maybe even undeserved defeat to Udinese last weekend, Marco Giampaolo got his first three points ahead of AC Milan. The hosts scored an early goal, held Brescia, and got really close to scoring more goals, but they lacked the so-called clinical edge to kill the game before. However, it was a good performance overall for the Rossonero.

Following ten minutes of both teams studying themselves, AC Milan opened the scoring. At 12 minutes, Suso made his way through the right-wing and crossed to the right for Calhanoglu, who headed home. 1-0 AC Milan.

Brescia didn’t feel the blow and tried to level. Bisoli had an incredible chance to equalize after 20 minutes, but his shot from the edge of the box went just wide. Gigio Donnarumma was tested on 35 minutes and made a beautiful save on Sabelli’s shot that deflected in the middle.

The game was tough for the hosts and kept like this in the second half. Milan had the first chance on 48 mins, through Castillejo, but it went just wide. Brescia pushed for an equalizer, but no big deal for the hosts. Brazilian Lucas Paqueta almost scored but saw his effort hit the left post on 89 minutes. Superb Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek also had a good chance on stoppage time, but Brescia’s keeper denied him, making it a skinny AC Milan win.

Now is the time for the first break for the national team’s games and AC Milan will return in mid-September, away from home against another newly promoted team, Hellas Verona.
