Ole’s at the wheel! This Wednesday at the Old Trafford Stadium hosts Manchester United showed that they haven’t reached the bottom line yet. Hosting Burnley, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men lost 2-0 at home.
Burnley didn’t beat the Red Devils at the Theatre of Dreams since 1962. It was yet another disastrous and embarrassing Man United performances under Ole. Chris Wood, on 38 minutes, and Jay Rodrigues, on 56, scored the goals for the historic Burnley win.
With the 2-0 loss at home, Ole’s team is at risk to get dropped down in the table.
Currently, the Red Devils are 5th in the League, but the difference from the 5th to the 14th placed is only of four points at the moment.
If things don’t change under Ole, Man United risk to not even play European Football – UEFA Europa League – for the next season. Meanwhile, Man United fans will need to put up with rival fans creating memes of Ole driving an old, thrashed car with Paul Pogba, Fred, and Harry Maguire’s faces on it.
For those who don’t get the Ole’s at the wheel thing, it is just a song that United fans created to praise their former player and current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Even Rio Ferdinand, Man United’s legend, has said live on the British TV that things would change now that Ole’s at the wheel at the Red Devils.
What a downgrade for the Manchester club.
Going from winning multiple Premier Leagues and a Champions League with Sir. Alex Fergusson to counting on Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial to score for them. That’s just embarrassing.
The worst part is that they are seeing both of their arch-rivals, Liverpool and Man City thriving on Football, as they can’t even win Burnley at home.
