Everton beat Crystal Palace by 3-1 this Saturday, at Goodison Park, in the opening match of matchday 26 in the Premier League. The goals of the Blue triumph were scored by Brazilians Bernard and Richarlison and British Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Christian Benteke scored the only goal for the visitors.
Bernard was responsible for breaking the deadlock, at the 18th minute. The number 20 received a perfect cross from Theo Walcott, who got out still in the first half due to injury, and smashed a volley beyond Guaita and into the net.
At the beginning of the second half, at the 51st minute, Palace found the equalizer through Benteke. Wilfried Zaha collected a loose ball and slipped to the number 17, who entered the box and hit a tame shot that went underneath Jordan Pickford and into the net.
The draw, however, didn’t last long. 7 minutes later Richarlison found himself one-on-one with Gary Cahill, rounded the defender and bent a low finish into the far corner from 20 yards. 2-0 to the Toffees.
Already at the end of the match, at the 88th minute, Calver-Lewin guaranteed the victory for the Blues of Liverpool. The number 9 was in the right place to tap the ball into an empty net after a finish from Richarlison.
With this victory, Everton keeps their good momentum of the season, as they didn’t lose for 5 games in a row. With the good sequence, the team commanded by the Italian Carlo Ancelotti currently climbed to seventh place, with 36 points. They can still go down depending on the other results of this matchday.
