This Sunday Juventus and Internazionale faced each other for the matchday 26 of Serie A. Playing behind close doors at the Juventus Stadium, the hosts were superior and beat the Nerazzurri by 2-0. The match had been postponed because of the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy and was very important for the title race. Aaron Ramsey and Paulo Dybala scored the winning goals.
The first half was marked by a lot of pressure from the hosts and some good chances. More than once, goalkeeper Samir Handanovic made important saves to keep the scoring with no goals. The visitors had also some chances, the best one with Marcelo Brozovic, but he stopped in the hands of Wojciech Szczesny.
The second half would be just like the first if Juventus didn’t break the deadlock in the first minutes. At the 54th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo received a pass from Matuidi and left the ball to Ramsey, who blasted it into the net.
Needing goals, the visitors launched themselves into the attack, and that left holes in the defense. With this, the Turin side managed to double the scoring. Dybala played a one-two with Ramsey before deceiving Inter’s defense and firing the ball into the bottom left corner.
Eriksen even tried to score a consolation, but the shot was too high and the ball went wide. The clash ended with the 2-0 and the three points for the Old Lady.
With this result, Juve goes back to the top of the table, with 63 points. Internazionale, on the other hand, is in the 3rd position, with 54 points.
Both teams still don’t know when they will play their next match for Serie A, once the schedule has been postponed until next month due to the Coronavirus. However, both teams will play for the European competitions. On Thursday, Inter will welcome Getafe for the round of 16 of Europa League. Next week, on Tuesday, Juventus will play the second leg against Lyon, at home.
