The winter market is getting warmer in Europe. Bayern Munich’s Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic confirmed on Wednesday that the club reached an agreement to have the French right-back Pavard from Stuttgart for the next five seasons. The hiring figures
were not announced by the leader of the German team but, according to European media, the transfer would have cost € 35 million.
The 22-year-old was formed in Lille, where he left for Stuttgart in August 2017. Last year he was the author of the most beautiful goal in the world cup and also got the title with the French national team.
“Pavard is a young player and world champion. We are delighted and very proud to be able to secure the talent of a player like him,” said Salihamidzic.
However, Bayern will probably not stop at Pavard. Salihamidzic also confirmed interest in the young British striker Hudson-Odoi (18 years old) of Chelsea. The contract would be to replace the leaving of veterans such as Robben and Ribéry, both older than 30 years
old, at the end of the season. According to the English media, the proposal would be € 39 million.
“He is a very interesting player. He has qualities that fit our game. He can dribble well, determined towards the goal. He has a lot of potential.” said the Bayern manager.
Bayern are making an inter-season appearance in Qatar during the winter break of the German Championship. They return to play next week, in pursuit of the leader Borussia Dortmund, six points behind in search for the seventh Bundesliga in a row. In February, they will face Liverpool in the round of 16 of the Champions League. With the arrival of new players, maybe Bayern will go out of the bad moment and be able to run for the title of Bundesliga and Champions, even though both would be very difficult for them this year.
