The easiest to predict business for the upcoming season was finally sealed! That is, Germany international Leroy Sane confirmed his Manchester City departure to land at Bayern Munich. The German striker underwent his medicals at the Bavarian club and put pen to paper on a five-year deal. Figures of the business reach up to 55 million euros.
Sane is returning to the Bundesliga, as he had played for Schalke 04 before going to Manchester City. With Sane’s official announcement, we could maybe ready between the lines, as this may mean that Brazil international Philippe Coutinho, who signed a new Bayern Munich contract until the end of the season, will probably leave the Bavarian giants at the end of this one.
That’s because the on-loan Barcelona player saw his number 10 shirt given to Sane in his official announcement.
That might have been hard to take for Coutinho, but it was predictable.
Besides the whole Coutinho conundrum, Bayern’s chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and captain Manuel Neuer spoke out on Sane’s arrival, but at the same time, went for prioritizing the German Cup final they’re about to face.
We have to see if Sane will fit-in into the Hansi-Flick system, as both Kingsley Coman, and Canada international Davies are showing great skills down the Bavarian club wings.
I believe, however, that Bayern Munich fans and also the club staff are confident in Sane.
He’s indeed a very good player and can help the Bavarians out in their mission to conquer the UEFA Champions League once again.
As for Philippe Coutinho, we still don’t know what the future reserves for the Brazilian. The former Little Magician has become the “Little Flop”, and it’s unlike that any top-flight European club is up to pay more than 50 million euros to sign him permanently from Barcelona.
