This Sunday, opening matchday 36 of the Serie A TIM, Bologna welcomed Lecce. At the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium, we saw 5 goals as the hosts were able to leave with the three points thanks to a late goal from Musa Barrow, who guaranteed the 3-2 win. The other two goals of the hosts were scored by Rodrigo Palacio and Roberto Soriano. Marco Mancosu and Filippo Falco diminished for the visitors.
The first half started with Bologna showing all their power and how they wanted the victory. Already at the 2nd minute, the home team broke the deadlock with Palacio. The number 24 received the ball from Barrow into the 6-yard box and put the ball into the back of the net from point-blank range.
It didn’t take Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men too long to double their lead, as they found the back of the net again 3 minutes later. This time Barrow’s assist went to Soriano, who tried from 20 yards out and hit into the bottom-right corner.
Before half-time, the visitors were still able to score a lifeline. At 45+2, the Rossoblu’s defense got a little confused after a corner, not being able to clear the ball, which was left to Gary Medel. The goalkeeper was able to save his shot, but the ball went to Mancosu, who pushed it into the back of the net with his chest. 2-1 as the teams went to the locker room.
The away side came back better to the second half, as they needed a good result to avoid relegation. It took them some time, but at the 21st minute, they leveled the match through Falco’s stunner. It honestly seemed that the draw would be the final result, but at the injury time, the man of the match appeared. At 90+3, Barrow, who gave the assist to the two first goals, received after a fast counter-attack and pushed the ball into the back of an empty net, guaranteed the three points to his team.
With the 3-2 victory, Bologna reached 46 points, being now in 11th place. On the other hand, Lecce keep fighting against relegation, as they are in 18th place with 32 points, 4 behind 17th place, Genoa.
