This Sunday for the 22nd matchday of the Italian League, AC Milan hosted Hellas Verona at the San Siro and had their winning streak interrupted. The goals were scored by Verona’s Davide Faraoni and AC Milan’s Calhanoglu.
With the 1-1 draw, both sides kept their positions in the table. The Rossoneri team retained the 8th place, as the visitors kept the 9th place.
Milan started the game in a sloppy way and with little intensity. It was this way that Verona capitalized to open the scoring at the legendary San Siro Stadium.
It was on 13′ that Italian right-back Faraoni broke the deadlock after deflecting a cross from the left. 0-1 Hellas Verona.
Even playing poorly and failing to create goal opportunities, Stefano Pioli’s men reached the equalizer on 28 minutes. In a free-kick by Turkish Calhanoglu, the ball ended up deflecting off the barrier and tricking Marco Silvestri, who had no chances to save it. 1-1.
After half-time, the visitors kicked it off better and saw AC Milan fans counting on luck to escape with a draw from the game.
Pessina had his chance in a header from close-range, but it went over the post. Right afterward, Verre lost an incredible chance from the edge of the box. Mattia Zaccagni saw his effort hitting the post.
However, the visitors had Amrabat sent off after a bad challenge on Milan’s Castillejo.
From there on, both sides slowed down the pace, and the 1-1 draw was consolidated.
Following the draw at the San Siro, AC Milan will have another challenge next Sunday. And what a challenge. They will face their arch-rivals Internazionale at home. Verona will visit Lazio, next Wednesday, for the Italian Serie A.
