AC Milan won 1-0 on Saturday at the San Siro against Lazio, without the injured Donnarumma and Paquetá, a giant step in the Champions League. They played a lot, a lot, Milan and Gattuso after three defeats and a draw in the last four games of Serie A.

A penalty converted into a goal by Ivorian Franck Kessie at 79 ‘allowed Milan to regain the victory, thus reinforcing its fourth position, to sink Lazio, who fell to eighth place, six points from the Champions area.

After the 0-0 of the first half, in which the Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina was decisive with a save after Ciro Immobile’s shot, the game increased tension in the resumption. And in the space of two minutes (between 77 and 79) the team of Gennaro Gattuso got two penalties. The first one was granted and then correctly denied with the help of the VAR, but, seconds later, Durmisi knocked down the Argentine Mateo Musacchio, provoking the maximum decisive penalty. Kessie did not shake from the twelve steps, beat the Albanian goalkeeper Tomas Strakosha and gave Milan three points of enormous importance in the face of their fight for the Champions League.

It was a tough suit for Lazio, frustrated by the result, provoked a fight with the Milan players that involved about twenty players, before calm was restored. Milan beat Roma in the table and finished fourth. Two points behind his classic rival, Inter.

The Roman team must still recover a match, next Wednesday against Udinese, but with the fall against the surprising Spal that won the Juve on the last date, it complicated their options to win a ticket for the next continental competition year.
