Continuing the matchday 25 of the Spanish League, Granada went to the Reyno de Navarra Stadium and beat Osasuna 3-0. Two goals from Darwin Machis and one from Dimitri Foulquier guaranteed the victory for the visitors.
The first goal came early. Already at the 4th minute, Roberto Soldado assisted Machis, who finished with his left foot, in the top corner, to put his team ahead on the scoring.
Osasuna tried to make things equal again and had good chances with Inigo Perez and Robert Ibanez, but both sent the ball wide. So, Granada kept on attacking and scored their second goal at the 28th minute, again with Machis. After receiving the ball from Yangel Herrrera, the number 23 sent it into the top-left corner, past goalkeeper Sergio Herrera.
The third, and last goal, of the match happened also during the first half. At the 41st minute, Foulquier finished and put the ball into the back of the net, making it 3-0 to the visitors before the half-time.
After the break, the match was pretty much like the first half. Granada almost scored their fourth goal right in the first minutes, but this time goalkeeper Herrera made a good save. And talking about goalkeepers, Rui Silva also made great saves to guarantee that Osasuna wouldn’t score any goal, even though they kept creating chances until the end of the match.
With the result, Granada remains in the 9th position but is now with 38 points, just 2 behind Villarreal, the team qualifying for the play-offs of Europa League. Osasuna, on the other hand, dropped to the 12th position, staying with 31 points.
As the two teams are only playing the Spanish Championship, both will come back to the pitch next weekend. Granada will welcome Celta Viga, on Saturday, while Los Rojillos will face Sevilla, away, on Sunday.
