This Saturday, football finally returned. The Bundesliga is back with many matches for the fans of the sport around the world. After the stoppage due to the Covid-19, the German League was the first major league to return to its normal activities.
This weekend, on Matchday 26, Hoffenheim welcomed Hertha Berlin behind closed doors and wasn’t able to stop the team from the capital. With a good 3-0 away victory, Hertha BSC got the 3 points in the return of the Bundesliga.
During the first half, there were not really great moments for neither side. It is true that both were trying to attack, but they didn’t seem to be inspired, or even at a top form due to a long time with no training or real games.
That’s basically why we had a goalless first-half. The most relevant thing that happened during this time was the three yellow cards shown to the away side
However, the second half was completely different. The game was more exciting and Hertha put on a show. With that, they didn’t take too long to finally open the scoring. At the 58th minute, Kevin Akpoguma deflected the ball into his own goal, giving the advantage to the visitors.
1-0 up, it took the visitors two minutes to double their lead. Vedad Ibisevic jumped higher than the defense and headed to the back of the net.
The third one came at the 74th minute. And what a goal that was! After an individual play, Brazilian Matheus Cunha cut into the middle from, got into the area, and sent the ball past goalkeeper Oliver Baumann.
With the 0-3 victory and the 3 points, Hertha Berlin moved up to 11th place, with 31 points. Hoffenheim, on the other hand, kept on the 9th position with 35 points. On the next Matchday, Hertha will welcome local rivals Union Berlin, on Friday, while Hoffenheim will visit Paderborn on Saturday.
