England remains unbeaten in the Euro 2020 qualifying Group A. Playing at London’s Wembley Stadium this Saturday, Gareth Southgate’s side maintained their 100% campaign by scoring another 4 goals past Bulgaria, who this time didn’t get to score. England’s man of the match was Tottenham’s Harry Kane, who scored a hat trick.
It was the third English triumph in three Matchdays into the Euro 2020 Qualifiers. The English team defeated Czech Republic 5-0 and Montenegro 5-1, as they top Group A with nine points, one more than Kosovo, the 2nd place so far.
England began the game better and saw a goal from Harry Kane disallowed in the initial minutes. However, it was not a big deal as on 23 minutes, Kane opened the scoring. And what a mess from the Bulgarian defense! Instead of going for a long ball off the goal-kick, the goalkeeper went for a short pass, as Raheem Sterling easily robbed the ball, and passed it to Kane, who fired home from close-range. 1-0 England.
English dominance was absolute, but they had to wait up until the second half to score more goals. On 48 minutes, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford drew a penalty for the English National Team. Kane stepped up and made it two for England. 2-0.
At 55, England reached their third with the duo Kane-Sterling working once again. This time, the Tottenham striker returned Sterling’s assist in the first half, leaving the Manchester City under the open goal to just tap the ball into the net and extend the British lead to 3-0.
Kane completed his hat trick, and guess how he did that? If your answer was anything to do with he took another penalty, you got it right, as the Tottenham player dived to get yet another Penalty and score from the spot. 4-0 England.
In the next round on Tuesday, again in London, England host the Kosovo team, which reached the group’s 2nd place on Saturday by beating the Czech Republic 2-1 at home. The Czechs are the third place with six points.
