The Solskjaer plan

Manchester United prepares for a bustling transfer window in the European Summer. In a risky situation where they could end up losing players like Pogba and Lukaku, the manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already prepared a list of ten names with reinforcements for virtually all sectors. According to the English newspaper Daily Mail, the most popular ones are Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic and Joao Felix, a young Benfica striker.

So far, the Red Devils have brought just Daniel James, left-wing Swansea, for 17 million euros. On the other hand, Antonio Valencia and Ander Herrera, at the end of the contract, will leave the club on July 1st. Check out the ten names Solskjaer wants.

Right-backs: Wan-Bissaka and Meunier

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, 21, plays for Crystal Palace and is treated as a priority in this window. The English fullback of Congolese descent saw his market value skyrocket with good performances last season. He should not leave Palace for less than 35 million euros.

More experienced, Meunier would be an alternative in case of failure to negotiate with Wan-Bissaka. He starts for the Belgium national team and is benched for Daniel Alves at PSG. He had more chances in the team when the Brazilian side played in the midfield. Meunier is valued by Transfermarkt in 30 million euros and is also a target for both Arsenal and Everton.

Center-backs: Maguire and Skriniar

Harry Maguire is still seen as the great English center-half, especially after his good 2018 World Cup. He could have made it to United last year but ended up renewing with Leicester. This is a fight between the rivals of Manchester since Pep Guardiola wants Maguire as a replacement after the Kompany departure. It seems, however, that the Red Devils are more likely to approach the high value (90 million pounds) intended by the Foxes. That value would make Maguire surpass Virgil van Dijk and become the most expensive defender of all times. Solskjaer feels he needs a new defender, as United conceded more goals in the last season than in they had in the last 40 seasons.

If Maguire does not come, the Slovak Skriniar is on the radar. Prestigious at Inter Milan, he is also a target of Chelsea, City, Tottenham, and Liverpool. The problem is that the 24-year-old defender has just signed a new contract with the Italians and will hardly leave now, especially with the Antonio Conte arrival.

Defensive midfielders: Eric Dier and Ndombele

Solskjaer thinks that Tottenham’s Eric Dier would be the name to solve United’s floppy midfield. He wants someone to cope with Nemanja Matic, who is already 30 years old. However, Dier’s recent injuries and his physical condition is something that concerns everyone at Old Trafford.

After a great season, Tanguy Ndombele is very much on the transfer market. Aware of this, Lyon threw the price high up there: £ 70 million. At first, the amount should not be disbursed by United, but a departure from Pogba, which would certainly yield high values, would help the business.

Offensive Midfielders: Rakitic and Longstaff

Rakitic is the most consecrated name on the list and also probably the least complicated trading. It is explained: Barcelona is looking forward to getting rid of the Croatian to relieve their payroll. The asking price is 50 million pounds for a 31-year-old player, but the experience of a successful player like Rakitic weighs in favor of a positive outcome. In addition, the arrival of Frenkie de Jong to the Barça can convince the Croatian to change of airs.

Also at Old Trafford, it is believed that young midfielder Longstaff may turn out to be a ‘new Michael Carrick’. This outlook already justifies investment in the young 21-year-old Newcastle midfielder. The transfer may not occur in this window, not least because Longstaff had a severe knee ligament injury in March. He is already training with the ball and will probably be 100% in August, but United can wait a little longer to mature and bring him. He plays as a winger down the left and as a defensive midfielder as well.

Strikers: Joao Felix e Dembele

Perhaps the most desired player in the European window, Joao Felix is riding the wave, after a good season with 20 goals and 11 assists in 43 matches. The 19-year-old boy is a true jewel and can become the next Cristiano Ronaldo, mainly for his versatility as he acts as a second striker, right-wing and center-forward. Solskjaer, however, assesses whether it is worth paying 120 million euros to assure that the Portuguese jewel land in the Red side of Manchester, as City watches the player as well.

More realistic, Moussa Dembele scored 23 goals for Lyon last season. It would be the replacement for a possible Lukaku departure to Internazionale. At 22, Dembele would arrive in Manchester for 40 million euros, enough for the French to replace the 22 million euros spent to get him out of Celtic in 2018.

If Solskjaer can land Joao Felix, Rakitic, Wan-Bissaka, and Harry Maguire, they are definitely Premier League title contenders. However, the club’s poor mentality in the last few years shows that it’s unlikely to happen. Which one of these names would you take into your team? Leave a comment below!

Sevilla beat Liverpool 2-1 and keep 100% in preseason friendlies

Sevilla keep their 100% in the pre-season friendlies as they beat Liverpool 2-1 on Sunday night. Nolito and Alejandro Pozo scored for the Spaniards in the match held in Boston, as Origi cashed for the Reds. Jurgen Klopp sent a mixed-up team to the pitch, as he doesn’t have their front-three nor his goalkeeper available.

Liverpool started the game with Lonergan, Van Dijk, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold, Philips, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Wilson, Chamberlain, Woodburn, and Origi. Sevilla took to the field Sergio Rico, Daniel Carrico, Diego Carlos, Reguilon, Jesus Navas, Banega, Fernando, Ocampos, Joan Jordan, Nolito, and De Jong.

With 37 minutes on the clock, Sevilla opened the scoring: Nolito received down the left and slotted a wonderful goal straight into Lonergan’s top corner. 1-0 Sevilla.

Seemed like the first half would end up like this, but Origi capitalized on a loose ball to level the match. 1-1 with 44 minutes on the clock.

Sevilla even lost Joris Gnagnon for a red card after a disgusting foul on Liverpool’s Larouci. When everyone thought the game was faded to this 1-1, 10-man Sevilla bright as at 90 minutes, Munir made a good move on the left and rolled in the middle for the young Pozo. He controlled the ball, rounded goalkeeper Mignolet and fired home into the empty nets. 2-1 Sevilla.

This was the fourth friendly played by Sevilla in the pre-season. And the fourth victory. The Spaniard had beaten Simba (Tanzania) by 5-4, Reading by 2-1 and Dallas by 3-1. The club has three more scheduled games: against Hoffenheim and Granada.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have also reached four friendlies played in that pre-season. The Reds defeated Tranmere Rovers 6-0 and Bradford City 3-1 but got beaten by Borussia Dortmund on Friday, 3-2. The Reds now have games against Sporting, Napoli, and Lyon.

Harry Kane Puskas’ Goal Guarantees Spurs 3-2 Win Over Juventus

Anthological! Thus should be defined the Harry Kane’s goal on Sunday morning in Singapore, which guaranteed the 3-2 Spurs triumph against Juventus in the International Champions Cup. After the 2-2 draw was kept until the last minutes, the English striker surprised the goalkeeper Szczesny and brought the stadium to madness! Before Kane’s masterpiece, Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura, Gonzalo Higuain, and Cristiano Ronaldo scored.

We can say that the game was friendly only on paper. With much intensity, Tottenham dominated the first half and built the advantage through Lamela, who capitalized on a rebounded ball by Buffon.

The Spurs were better during the first half, but it seemed like the London club did not come back to the pitch up to score more goals. Smart Maurizio Sarri introduced Higuain as Juventus quickly fired back. With 15 minutes into the second half, the Italians completed the comeback through Higuain himself, and the Portuguese star CR7.

Pochettino introduced Lucas Moura, as the Brazilian showed opportunism to leave everything the same. 2-2.

When everything seemed solved, Kane took out the unpredictable from the hat and wrapped up the game in an absurd goal from the midfield.

Lucas won the ball in his defensive half and played with Kane, who, in a mad-moment, took the risk to attempt from down the midfield. The ball made all the way into the net, looping over Szczesny, who even tried to save it, but he wasn’t really expecting that. None of us were, to be honest. 3-2 Tottenham.

After losing to the Spurs, Juventus will face Inter Milan next Wednesday and Atletico Madrid on August 10.

Meanwhile, the Spurs have three more scheduled preseason appointments. For the International Champions Cup, Tottenham will take Manchester United and Inter Milan. Between the two games, Pochettino leads the team against Real Madrid on 30 July in another friendly tournament.

Dortmund beat Liverpool 3-2 in a friendly in the US

Borussia Dortmund defeated Liverpool 3-2 on Friday in a preseason friendly match at the University of Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana, United States. Paco Alcacer, Thomas Delaney and Jacob Larsen scored for the German team, as youngsters Harry Wilson and Rhian Brewster, discounted for the European Champions.

As expected, the two teams started out with a lot of reserves in the field and changed all the players in the second half. Unlike the German team, which already has a large part of the squad available, Liverpool still cannot count with a few key players such as Congolese Naby Keita, Senegalese Sadio Mane, the Egyptian King, Mohamed Salah, and Brazilians Roberto Firmino, and Alisson Becker.

This was Liverpool’s third friendly, as they had beaten Tranmere Rovers 6-0 and then beat Bradford City 3-1 before traveling to the United States.

Borussia got their second win in the preseason two days after beating American side Seattle Sounders 3-1.

So let’s get into the game. Under the hot weather at Indiana, manager Jurgen Klopp’s former club Borussia opened the scoring in just three minutes into the game, with the Spanish Paco Alcacer taking advantage of poor defense from the English defense.

At 34, the Brazilian Fabinho played with Ryan Kent, who did the light-cut and left Harry Wilson in conditions to level the game. 1-1.

In the second half, Borussia again was quick to return to the lead with a goal scored by Thomas Delaney with 53 on the clock.

Shortly after, at 58, Jacob Larsen expanded to the German team.

Liverpool even responded at 75, as captain Jordan Henderson let Rhian Brewster take the Penalty which he scored, but it wasn’t enough to equalize it. 3-2 Dortmund.

Well, it was a good win for Dortmund, who beat the European Champions. As for Liverpool, there’s no better time to lose games than now. It’s preferable to lose all the preseason matches and go unbeaten in the Premier League to win the title.
