Amid all the chaos in Europe and the paralyzation of basically all the national leagues, Premier League announced the player of the month. In February, the chosen was the new star of Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese signed with the club at the end of January and had a really short time to adapt to the English football and his co-workers in the Red Devils, and as amazing as it may seem, he did it. In February, he played 3 games in the English League – two wins and one draw – and it is not absurd to say that he was one of the reasons that United improved their game. In fact, since his arrival, Solskjaer’s men have not been defeated.
He made an instant impact in the Red Devils.
Bruno Fernandes started all the matches since he was able to play. There were 9 matches until now, from 3 different competitions. From the nine, Man United won 6 – being 3 in the Premier League, one in the FA Cup and 2 in Europa League – and drew 3. The Portuguese helped with three goals scored and he gave four assists. So, it means that he directly participated in 7 goals of the 22 scored by his team.
Apart from the trophy of the best player of February in the English Premier League, he also won the election made between Manchester United fans.
I believe that many, just like me, wouldn’t have thought that he would help United that much during the first month, or that he would need a long time to understand how things worked in England, especially once he used to play for the Portuguese Championship.
And honestly, I’m happy to be surprised in a positive way. Man United one of the big clubs in Europe and Bruno Fernandes has everything to help them show this to the world once again.
