It is not a secret that Arsenal is currently experiencing difficulties inside the pitch. Before the season was suspended due to the Covid-19, we saw the team facing many problems to finish the match with the 3 points. The Gunners have changed manager in the middle of the season and today they are in the 9th place on the Premier League table.
Certainly not fighting for titles and with small chances to get a place on next season’s UEFA Champions League, the current scenario of Arsenal is surely not what the fans were expecting as for the beginning of the season. And it may even cause the loss of one of the main players.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose contract goes until 2021, had shown little interest in keeping his relationship with the London club and is likely that the Gabonese striker won’t extend his contract with Arsenal.
With this in mind and also the fact that many clubs are looking for a good striker – Barcelona for example – the 30-year-old Gabonese may be one of the options available in the market.
According to the newspaper “Metro”, from England, Manchester United was the last club that has shown interest in the striker. Chelsea was also keen on the Gabon international’s situation.
Besides the two English clubs, Barcelona and Internazionale are other clubs who eye the situation of the striker in the London club. A move from the Italians is expected, especially if they lose Lautaro Martinez to Spanish Football.
Aubemeyang scored 20 goals this season and, even though he is already 30 years old, many European giants may see him as a bargain. Apart from that, many can offer something that Arsenal will maybe not be able to, which is to play the Champions League once again.
With all this, I can’t see Aubameyang staying at the Gunners for the next season, but there are chances that he will keep playing the Premier League.
