The 23-year-old Portuguese striker Diogo Jota, who currently plays for the Portuguese Legion, as known as, Premier League’s Wolverhampton, arouses interest from the North-London team, Arsenal, led by Spanish coach Mikel Arteta.
Well, we can say that the young player has been standing out in the current European season and is one of the main players in the squad of his countryman, the Portuguese manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
However, for the London team to hire Diogo Jota, they will have to pay an amount of around 35 million euros. Thus, the amount previously mentioned is the Portuguese market value, according to Transfermarkt.
Diogo Jota has scored nine goals in 12 matches in the UEFA Europa League. On the other hand, in the Premier League, he featured in 25 games, waved the net six times and also had some assists. In addition, Wolves are in 6th place with 43 points won.
He’s got some real good numbers throughout his whole career as well.
The 23-years-old started his career in Gondomar, back in 2005-06. Later on, he went to Paços Ferreira, where he started playing football professionally, Jota played 47 games, scored 18 goals, and 14 assists. Soon after, in the 2016-17 season, he went to Atletico Madrid, from Spain. However, the Portuguese didn’t have many chances with Diego Simeone and went to FC Porto on loan. Back in his homeland, he scored nine goals and gave seven assists in 38 matches.
Then he went to Wolves in the next season, and the rest is history. Alongside Mexican Raul Jimenez, they helped the English side to go to the next level, as now, everyone considers Wolverhampton as a Big-10 club.
I totally think that he can perform at a good level in Arsenal, but there, he will find tougher competition, and will probably sit on the bench until he proves he’s worth a place in the starters.
